For 10 years, TPD Media has worked with the teams at Hamilton Island and Audi Australia to bring all of the action of the Australian Tourism Award winning Audi Hamilton Island Race Week to its vast audience.
Like most events, this event appeals to two distinct audiences; those actually attending or participating in the event as well as those physically not able to attend and who want more than just news updates.
We send a team of ten production specialists to create content to reach these distinct audiences.
Radio
Each day we produced two-hours of live radio to set the stage for the day of racing and social activities. The radio station (96.9FM) was also streamed online and via an app developed by TPD Media. Highlights of the morning’s radio show, which often included interviews with celebrities was edited and formed the backing music along Front Street for the remainder of the day.
Television
Every evening TPD Media delivered two episodes of Race Week TV, showcasing the action onshore and on water for in-room televisions and big screens around Hamilton Island. The episodes were also uploaded for online and social media distribution. A special documentary was also produced as a curtain-raiser for the Seven Network’s telecast of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race on Boxing Day.

All of the highlights, both on and off the water, were edited into a highlights video which was screened at the event’s presentation ceremony.
